Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D)- You are eligible to apply for Ph.D. Program if you have any one of the following mentioned qualifications with 50% in qualifying examination and valid score in GATE / UGC - CSIR - NET, JRF / ICMR, JRF / JEST / or any other advanced entrance examination:

Ph.D. students are awarded an scholarship of Rs. 12000 – 14000.

M.S. Engg. / M.S. by Research

General- Candidates with an M Sc., B E, B Tech, M E, M Tech or MBBS with minimum 50% marks are eligible to apply. However they must require valid score in GATE / UGC - CSIR - NET, JRF / ICMR, JRF / JEST / or any other advanced entrance examination. Please note that candidates with a Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology/ Medicine, however, do not require a qualifying exam.

Specific qualifications for MS by Research and MS Engg by Research are mentioned below.

M.S. by Research - You are eligible to apply if you have either M.B.B.S. Degree or B.E. / B.Tech. (any biology related area).

M.S. Engineering by Research - You are eligible to apply if you have anyone of the following qualifications.

M S / M S (Engg.) students receive scholarships of Rs. 12,000.

Integrated Ph.D.

This program is offered only in the area of Material Science. A written entrance test followed by an oral examination is administered for the selection of candidates. The written test consists of questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. You are eligible if you have Bachelors degree with minimum 55% marks in science or engineering. Candidates appearing in final qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. Stipend of Rs. 5000 is given for first two years to selected candidates. At the end of two years successful candidates receive MS Degree in Material Science and can embark on the Ph.D. programme with a fellowship of Rs. 12000/- per month.
