National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore is the first Indian Law University founded in the year 1986, but it only became functional in 1988. It is the only Law School sponsored by the Bar Council of India.

The National Law School of India University is located in Nagarbhavi,which is about 10 kms from the Bangalore City railway station. The Law School is spread over an 18 acre campus at the entrance to the Jnana Bharati Campus from the Nagarbhavi end.
